A few good moments somewhere in the middle of nowhere

Once upon a time, in a little place called Kamikawa, right on the border of Gunma and Saitama prefectures where the beautiful Kanna river leaves behind the mountains of south-western Gunma prefecture and enters Kanto plain lived a small family of foreign people in a foreign land who liked beer more than anything else in the world (except for football).

During the day they worked their asses off as assistant English teachers and in the evenings and especially on the weekends they gathered together to drink the God's nectar. They drank beer, played "Sociables" in the winter, made bonfire parties in the parking lot in the summer, swam naked in Kanna river, pissed off their Japanese neighbours and poured more beer down their throats. It was the Year of Beer at Hasegawa apartments and the profits of Hasegawa supermarket which to their convenience was just across the street likely doubled from the previous years.

They were all more or less 30 years old, but it didn't really feel like it.

And so passed a week after week, a month after month until one day they all went their seperate ways and once again quiet life returned to the tiny Hasegawa apartment building in the middle of nowhere.

and others who joined them on many occasions especially during the summer bonfire parties:

and many others.
